I. Project Background and Challenges

Located in London's exclusive Knightsbridge neighborhood, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is celebrated worldwide as an icon of luxury hospitality. In 2024, the hotel embarked on a delicate refurbishment of selected guest bathrooms, aiming to elevate spatial sophistication and guest experience while preserving its signature British elegance.

II.Project Highlights

	Bathroom Walls – Volakas White Marble was cut into large-format slabs and installed across bathroom walls, creating a seamless and pure visual backdrop. Its gentle veining adds a soft, artistic touch to the space.
Bathroom Flooring – The same marble was used for flooring, ensuring material continuity between walls and floors and enhancing spatial harmony. The surface was treated for slip resistance, combining safety with understated sophistication.

III. Project Outcome

The use of Volakas White Marble brightened and purified the visual atmosphere of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park’s bathrooms, seamlessly extending the hotel’s signature low-key luxury style. Each slab’s unique veining introduced subtle artistic variation to every room, elevating the sense of exclusivity and layered experience within the space.

Volakas White Marble, originating from Greece, is highly regarded for its unique mountain-and-water veining. This veining style resembles traditional landscape paintings, with intricate swirls of grey, light beige, and sometimes soft purple tones flowing across a pristine white background.
